You know sometimes you go with the flow and something amazing happens… well…
In my last post I told you about my neighbor I met yesterday in the Nayostreet at Aruba right? Well he picked me up around 6. We had a few drinks at the Chaos cafe in Oranjestad. Where of course I had to learn the Salsa! These people can dance!!! Good thing we had lessons, right Rose? ;-)

Well anyway, after a few caiperinhas we started to play a game of pool.
After one round this guy came up to us and asked if he and his friends could play along. They were three guys from Ireland in their mid-40ties called Jim, Trevor and the other one I don’t remember. They came from this town nearby Waterford and were on this businesstrip where they just made a big deal with one of the biggest shoppingmalls on Aruba. And of course there is no coincidence but my new friend happened to be working on the new website for this shoppingmall. So we had a few more drinks and we started this bet. If they would win the next game we had to entertain them the whole next day by taking them out for breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks. And if we would win they would take us in their private jet to a nice sunrise somewhere, NO KIDDING!
I told you you wouldn’t believe it…
Anyway… we won! My Aruban neighbour Dwayne was a great player and I wasn’t very bad myself I have to say. But for this prize I would have won the world championship of pool.
So Jim told us to get our bags and we would meet him at the airport. Of course we didn’t believe him. Trevor showed us a picture of them and the jet and normally I would never go with four strange guys, but hey it was the cocktails that made me. After a long time convincing us we agreed to share a taxi to take us first home to get a bag and passports and stuff (good thing I hadn’t had the time to unpack yet) and then we went straight to the airport, I was so happy Dwayne decided to go with me, he’s a trustworthy guy and otherwise I would have never gone. But when you are traveling sometimes you make weird decisions.
When we arrived at the airport there were these guys in suits calling the Irish guys mister this and mister that and they guided us to the airplane. What a sight!!!
This private jet was unbelievable I tell you. It was like a limousine with wings.
After a few more champagnes I unfortunately fell into a coma and woke up on this white couch in a huge mansion. The guys were on the roof terrace watching the view. The view was stunning. The picture is of the sunrise we enjoyed in what appeared to be Tramore on the Southcoast of Ireland.
It is now one o’clock and I still can’t believe we are here. And I have a terrible hangover. I happen to be in the house of Jim and his wife Joanie. And I am now sitting in this enormous library writing this story on Joanies computer asking myself how I can write this without giving you the feeling I’m taking a piss.
Trevor and whats his name have just left to go home and later today we will return to Aruba. And now I am going to enjoy this amazing bathroom to soak for a while in the jacuzzi.
Travels can’t get any better than this!
